Soaring by to say hi...

 I picked up this Quickutz kite diecut on clearance for only $2.00. I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do with it when I bought it but this is what I came up with. (I submitted this particular card to CARDS last call but it wasn't picked up). I used the sentiment from Everyday Button Bits and the swirly dotted image from Baby Button Bits to make the tail of the kite. I also used a tree diecut to make the clouds and punched a heart with my Fiskars punch.

Everyone is sleeping in my house, so I am going to take a bit of time to make some cards and enjoy a little me time! Thanks for visiting.

Happy, happy, joy, joy

The main leaf image is from Blooming Button Bits and was stamped in Burnt Umber ink. I punched out some flowers in Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy and Taupe cardstock and added a medium brown rhinestone to the center. I placed everything on a light olive panel which I jazzed up a bit with my fancy corner punch. I tied some string and accented the colours with two strips of cardstock in dark brown and pure poppy. I embossed the background with a texture plate by Fiskars. Thanks for visiting.

Little Flower

For this card I stamped the background with Polka Dot Basics. The main image was created with Blooming Button Bits in Ripe Avocado ink. I punched out a flower with my Fiskars punch and accented it with a little glitter. The vase is by Quickutz which I jazzed up with the argyle type image from Take a Bough. The sentiment is also from Blooming Button Bits stamped in Noir ink.

Yesterday I went to Paula's class at Stamping Bella. I had lots of fun colouring (something I normally don't do). We only managed to get through one card in the two hours of class time! Yikes colouring takes a long time. If you are able to take Paula's class then I recommend that you do, her colouring is soo purty!

Thinking of You

I decided to participate  in the clean and simple challenge on Split Coast Stampers this week and I cam up with this cheerful card. Topic is wishing for spring (I think this card says spring, don't you?) I started off with a lemon tart cardstock and stamped my favourite leaf image from Turning a new leaf in Sunflower ink. I then used the stems form with sympathy and masked the image to partially stamp it in Ripe Avocado ink on the embossed nesties square. I stamped the tiny little flower in sunflower ink and added a dot to the center with a brown pen. I punched out a tiny butterfly in dark chocolate cardstock and stamped the sentiment in burnt umber ink to tie in more of the brown from the main panel. Hello from the heart

For this card I started with Piece of Cake and I stamped it on a piece of Ocean Tides cardstock with Water Lily Green ink.  I used the same ink and stamped the circular image from Polka Dot Basics on a piece of Suede Brown Med cardstock (Prism). I masked the sentiment (Vintage Picnic Sentiments) to create the text on two line and leave room for a little stamping. I pulled out Turning a New Leaf to stamp the leaf images in Noir Black ink. I then accented the card with some flowers I punched and a soft yellow punched heart. Thanks for visiting.

Thinking of You

I purchased the Scattered Additions set a few months ago but haven't really done much with it. I decided to pull it out yesterday to make a card for PTI's GSS contest.This is what I created. I stamped the umbrella in hibiscus ink and cut it out. I also used Birds of a Feather for the bird and Tags for Spring for the butterfly.I added a few punched flowers and some rhinestones and a little glitter on the umbrella.  I also took inspiration from Nicole's blog post earlier this week about finishing the inside of my card and carried the design over to the inside. I decided not to stamp a sentiment inside so it could be used for any occasion. Thanks for visiting.

Everyday is a gift

Today's card was created with Turning a New Leaf (love this set!) which I stamped repeatedly on Vintage Cream cardstock in several earthy colours. I also used the tiny little leaf from Scattered Showers Additions. I roughed up the edges of a light blue panel and stamped one of the leaf images in Burnt Sienna ink and added a little punched flower. I also added a distress border in an earthy yellow and a punched border in dark chocolate. I tied everything together with a piece of string.

Hello friend (part 2)

Here is another card that I made with the Bohemian series stamps. Again, I made a matching envelope by stamping the background stamp on the flap of the envelope. Really easy to do since you already have your stamps and ink out and it just ties everything together.

If you are new to making cards, todays card would be an easy one to duplicate. The pink patterned paper is from Upsy Daisy Designs and made it a breeze to tie in the design of the card with the envelope. I just glued a piece of the patterned paper to the flap of the envelope and trimmed.Easy peasy. I created the flower with two Hibiscus flower punches from Martha Stewart. I used the larger image and the Hibisucs trio punch. Just ink the edges, layer them together and add a rhinestone for a little bling! The sentiment on this card is from Bohemian Series (Series 35), Studio G. I'm not sure who designed this set but I absolutley LOVE IT!

 

I'm here for you

This card might be a little "bright" for a sympathy card (I personally prefer earthy and pastel colours for sympathy cards) but it is perfect as a get well or encouragement card. The background was created with Summer Sunrise cardstock and Polka Dot Basics and Fresh Snow ink. (I also stamped the flap of the envelope in Summer Sunrise ink so that it matched the card). Than I used a panel in Teal cardstock and punched a pretty bottom border with my Martha punch. I created the flower with a Sizzix die and attached a brown rhinestone and circle in the center. The leaves are made from an Emagintion Crafts punch (love that leaf punch!) Ribbon is my favourite ribbon ever(Michaels){which reminds me I'm all out and need to purchase more!}.
